Spain Villas: Kid-friendly Accommodation

Traveling with kids is never easy. They need to be kept safe and secure, eat at proper times and can be quite fussy about trying different or unusual foods. Their health is also a concern and you need to ensure that the accommodation is hygienic and clean. If you're traveling with babies or toddlers, you would have to engage a baby-sitter or take a nanny along with you if you want a day or night out without the kids. The perfect choice for a family vacation or group holiday with kids would be a villa rental.

Villa Foster, Lloret de Mar, Costa Brava

Spain is one of the most child-friendly holiday destinations in the world. Apart from the warmth and affection shown to kids by most people in the country, Spain offers children and teens the opportunity to have one of the most memorable vacations in their lives. There's plenty for young people to do here and depending on their age, preferences and the time available, they can learn the Spanish language, riding, tennis, cooking, music and dance anywhere in the country. Almost every city and village is rich with historical associations, festivals, fiestas, ancient monuments and provides kids with plenty of legends, myths and drama that reflects Spain's colorful past. Cities like Barcelona and Madrid are top of every young foot-baller's list of must-see places, with their foot-ball clubs, stadiums and museums dedicated to the game. Wandering through the streets of these cities, munching chocolate con churros is every kid's idea of fun. Sports enthusiasts have a wide range of activities – ranging from water-sports on the beach to river-rafting, mountaineering, hiking, biking, cycling-tours, para-gliding, trekking, caving in summer and a variety of winter sports like skiing, tobogganing and ice-skating during the Christmas holidays.

Once you've decided what you want to do in Spain with your kids, you can figure out where you want to be located. If your kids enjoy fun in the sun, a rental close to one of Spain's many Blue Flag beaches which offer entertainment and leisure activities for children would be perfect. Kids who love nature and environmental issues would find visits to the many Natural Reserves and nature theme parks interesting and exciting. Ensure that you plan an itinerary that includes a variety of activities so that they don't get bored or cranky. However, make sure that they also get plenty of rest and relaxation and play-time – so don't pack the schedule too tight.

Older kids and teens would love to visit discos and amusement parks, theme-parks, water-sports centers, museums and music concerts. Your villa rental may include in-house tennis courts and swimming pool so your kids can enjoy themselves while you relax. Just make sure that they're properly supervised and someone is on hand to step in whenever required.

Your kids will certainly enjoy their Spanish vacation in a villa rental provided you plan well!
